Peabody-Burns will field its own track team and join with other county teams for two other sports this season — Hillsboro for baseball and Marion for swimming.

The school’s varsity track and field squad is looking bigger this year.
“We had three athletes last year who are all returning and an additional five coming out,” coach Austin Weaver said.
This year’s team will be young, with six sophomores and two freshmen.
“We have a few that should be competitive at regional this year,” Weaver said.
This will be Weaver’s second year as head coach.
“Athletes to watch are sophomore Max Turner with shot put and discus and sophomore Sarah Winfrey in the 800 and 1600,” Weaver said.
The Warriors have been practicing since mid-March. Their first meet of the season is scheduled for Tuesday in Haven.
