ACTIVITY REPORTS
Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies generally are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.
HILLSBORO
July 6 — A dog was reported loose in the 200 block of E. 3rd St. Police investigated a parking complaint at Wilson and C Sts. and helped a visitor with directions.
July 7 — A driver was arrested on suspicion of driving without a license after a traffic stop in Bomgaars parking lot. A dog was reported loose in the 200 block of S. Ash St. Police talked to a resident about a civil matter.
July 8 — Police met with a resident about a possible scam. Suspicious activity was reported at the Sinclair gas station.
Thursday — Trespassing was reported in the 100 block of N. Washington St. A resident in need of unspecified assistance was located near Durham. A dog was reported loose in the 300 block of S. Lincoln St. Police talked to a resident about a civil matter and investigated parking complaints in the Parkview Mennonite Brethren Church parking lot and in construction in the 500 block of S. Lincoln St. Tree limbs were removed from the street in the 200 block of N. Ash St.
Friday — Stopped for an equipment violation on US-56, a driver was arrested on suspicion of failing to update his offender registration with purchase of a new vehicle. Another driver was ticketed for having no liability insurance, no motorcycle endorsement, and illegal registration during a traffic stop in the 500 block of E. D St. Hillsboro police backed up Marion police during at disturbance in the 500 block of S. Cedar St. in Marion.
Saturday — Drugs were recovered and a driver arrested during a traffic stop at 190th Rd. and Vine St. Police helped a driver at Casey’s General Store.
Sunday — A driver was ticketed for exhibition of speed and failure to stop at a stop sign in the 200 block of N. Ash St. Police investigated an animal complaint at Memorial Field.
MARION
July 6 — A driver was ticketed for speeding, and another was warned for an unspecified moving violation at US-56 and Timber Rd. Police helped a driver start his vehicle at the courthouse.
July 7 — A person was found after hours in Central Park. A possible criminal threat was investigated, but no offense report was released. A driver was warned for an equipment violation at US-56 and Timber Rd.
July 8 — Investigation of a case involving a fraudulent check began. A driver was warned for speeding at US-56 and Timber Rd.
Thursday — Two drivers were warned for equipment violations and one for an unspecified moving violation in traffic stops at Main and 2nd Sts., Roosevelt and Highland Sts., and US-56 and Cedar St.
Friday — No offense reports were released, but disturbances were reported in the 100 block of N. Roosevelt St. and the 500 block of S. Cedar St., where a complaint of harassment by telecommunications also was investigated and where Hillsboro police were called as backup. Police gave a stranded driver a ride from US-56 and Ridge Rd. to the sheriff’s office. A driver was warned for an equipment violation at US-56 and Timber Rd.
Saturday — What may have been stalking was reported in the 400 block of N. Roosevelt St.; no offense report was released. Police helped a Hillsboro officer with a traffic stop and began an investigation of a second vehicle.
Sunday — What may have been harassment was reported at the police department; no offense report was released. A driver was arrested on US-56 on suspicion of violating license restrictions.
