Peabody plans sales tax town hall

A town hall meeting at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 1 at Peabody Township Library will discuss the city’s 1% sales tax, which will expire March 31.

The tax collected $607,137 from 2021 through 2025, including $98,790 last year.

City officials plan to provide collection figures and answer questions. Council members have discussed renewing the tax or increasing it but have not settled on a rate.
