Vehicle burglary, trespassing

Drinking is thought to have played a role in a 47-year-old man’s arrest at 3:20 p.m. Sunday after he was seen during routine patrols repeatedly entering and apparently searching a vehicle parked behind Hillsboro Ford.

Glove compartment contents from the vehicle, owned by Hillsboro Ford employee Shane M. Goerzen, 29, of rural Goessel, were found sitting in a seat when officer John Huebert checked the vehicle.

Huebert arrested Ian A. Weisbeck, 47, Hillsboro, after determining that Weisbeck did not have permission to be in the vehicle.

Weisbeck was confined to Marion County Jail on suspicion of vehicle burglary and criminal trespassing. Bond was set Monday at $5,000.
