REPORTED

These offense reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:

SHERIFF

Criminal damage

Two side windows valued at $700 total were reported damaged between 11:45 and 11:51 p.m. June 27 on a vehicle parked near its owner’s residence in Peabody.

Undersheriff Larry Starkey’s report, released Thursday, said owner Amber L. Litton had parked the vehicle in the 200 block of N. Maple St.

The report states there was no known relationship between the perpetrator and the victim.

The incident appears to have been investigated by the sheriff’s office because no Peabody officers were available.

HILLSBORO

Criminal damage

Spray painting thought to have occurred between 7:30 and 9 a.m. July 15 caused an estimated $450 damage to a west shelter house at Memorial Park.

The letters “KWOR,” other words, and what were described as images of a cherry and of a Pac-Man character wearing headphones were found in various colors outside and inside the structure.

Aggravated child endangerment, interfering with law enforcement, drunken driving

Three children, ages 1, 5, and 9, were taken into protective custody and a 39-year-old woman who had fled domestic violence in Oklahoma was jailed after workers at Wendy’s reported that she had driven drunk to the restaurant’s drive-thru lane at 1:55 p.m. Sunday.

Police say the driver acted irrationally, refused to cooperate with his commands to park her vehicle, and had to be removed from it. Four small plastic bottles of liquor reportedly were found inside.

One child was treated at St. Luke Hospital in Marion for a pre-existing but untreated medical condition.

Police are recommending charges of interfering with law enforcement, driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, transporting an open container of alcohol, three counts of child endangerment, and a single count of aggravated child endangerment.

As required by law, jail records include her name and current town. However, at the request of Hillsboro police, the newspaper is not publishing it so as not to alert her Oklahoma abuser as to her current whereabouts at a shelter for abused women.

She was released from jail Monday morning after posting a $10,000 bond and was attempting to reclaim her car, which had been towed to a private impoundment lot in Marion.
