Mary Davis

Services for Mary Elizabeth (Transue) Davis, 95, who died Friday in Olathe, will be 10 a.m. today at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Basehor.

She was born Sept. 16, 1925, to Ira James Transue and Margaret Elizabeth (Byrne) Transue.

She graduated from Summerfield High School in 1942.

She married Bill Davis Oct. 28, 1946, in Belleville.

Mary and Bill lived in Athol, Hamilton, Missouri, Lenexa and Overland Park, and Marion.

They were active members of the Chat ‘’N’ Dine club.

After Bill’s death, she moved to Lubbock, Texas, then back to Kansas in 2013.

She is survived by daughters Mary Maureen Blandin, and Jacqueline Cortright; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and brother John Transue.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Davis; son James Davis; grandsons John Cortright II and Samuel Cortright; and brother Leonard Transue.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Shawnee.

Memorials have been established with Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi, Francis, Wisconsin, and Our Lady Queen of the Holy Angels Adoration Chapel, Holy Angels Catholic Church, Basehor.
