Marion High School performers presented a musical reenactment Saturday and Sunday of the coming-of-age of novelist Louisa May Alcott and her sisters.
The musical, “Little Women,” is based on the lives of Beth, Amy, Jo, and Meg March.
A Civil War story that spans the years 1863 to 1866, “Little Women” follows the adventures of the sisters while Jo is trying to sell her stories but publishers are not interested.
She finds success after Professor Bhaer tells her to write more from herself.
Alyera Koehn played Jo, Willow Spence played Amy, Sophia Dye played Meg, and Sara Groening played Beth.
The presentation included 53 other students playing supporting roles in the musical.
Besides March family members and friends, the cast included a group of witches, a band of trolls, and a group of dancers.
