Lincolnville’s annual Octoberfest, usually the first weekend in October, will not take place this year, according to celebrations chairman Cris Peterson.

“It was a hard decision for us to make,” she said. “We still struggle with volunteers, and those we do have commitments that day.”

The Octoberfest committee will sponsor activities and conduct fundraisers throughout the next year. A Halloween activity Oct. 29 will include and a “Trunk and Treat.” More information will be provided later.
