Lawyers agree on competency test

A lawyer for Marion resident Rexana Siebert, who has 10 criminal cases pending against her, and county attorney Joel Ensey agreed Monday to have her evaluated to determine whether she is competent to stand trial.

Siebert is charged with burglary and criminal trespass stemming from a May 14 incident in which she allegedly entered a friend’s home without permission and took a bath.

She reportedly had behaved erratically that day, talking to herself, throwing things off her friend’s porch, and coming outside inappropriately attired.

When she bonded out of jail after that arrest, she was booked back into jail just hours later.

She also was reported to have entered Holy Family Catholic Church after being told the day before not to return.

Additionally, Siebert is charged in nine separate cases with two counts of battery, five counts of disorderly conduct, two counts of criminal trespass, two counts of two counts of battery against a law enforcement officer, interference with law enforcement, domestic battery, and three counts of giving a worthless check.

Siebert will be evaluated at Prairie View. Examiners will make a report to the court regarding her competency.
