Diane Glaser
Services for Karen Diana “Diane” Glaser, 78, who passed away Friday at Bethesda Home in Goessel, will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2021, at Peabody United Methodist Church.
Burial will follow at Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Peabody.
Family will meet with friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 23, 2021, at the church.
Born July 24, 1942, in Blackwell, Oklahoma to Ceph and Anita Curl, Diane grew up in the Braman, Oklahoma, area, where she graduated high school with the class of 1960.
She then attended Northern Oklahoma Junior College for two years and finished her education at Kansas State University. She graduated in January, 1965, with a teaching degree.
Diane married Graeme Glaser on August 31, 1962. They had their first son, Curt, in Manhattan, and then resided in Lawton, Oklahoma, while Graeme was in the military.
When Graeme was assigned duty in Vietnam, Diane moved back to Braman with their son. That year she also taught school at South Haven, Kansas.
Upon Graeme’s return from service, they lived in several places and continued to expand their family with the birth of Dawn and Kent before finally landing in 1978 Peabody, where they made their home on a farm.
Diane taught for 20 years at Peabody Elementary School. She was an active member of Peabody United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir, participated in United Methodist Women, and taught children’s Sunday school.
Diane loved tending to her flower gardens, cooking, sewing, doting on her grandkids, and spending time with friends.
She is survived by husband Graeme; sons Curt and wife Joni of Ellsworth and Kent and wife Charity of Gardner; daughter Dawn Voth and husband Mike of Littleton, Colorado; and brother Eric and wife Rita of Mountain View, Arkansas.
Diane was blessed with eight grandchildren: Clint, Grant and wife Marissa, Nate, Cassie, Dawson, Tatum, Tristin, and Trent.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents and sister Catherine McRae.
