Courthouse stairs repaired

Stairs on the north side of Marion County’s courthouse are closed while they are being restored.

Mid-Continental Restoration Co. of Fort Scott began working on the stairs Monday.

Job superintendent Joe Tourtillott said concrete repair and deck coating would be done on the north steps and sealant would be applied to the main steps on the west side of the building.

He estimated the work would take two weeks.

The work is estimated to cost $17,431, with $14,182 for the north stairs and $3,249 for the west stairs.
