Bradford Harrington

Graveside services for Richard Bradford Smith Harrington, 86, who died Nov. 30, 2023, of cancer, will be 10 a.m. July 10, 2024, at Kansas Veterans Cemetery, 5181 Wildcat Creek Rd., Manhattan.

He was born May 30, 1937, in Wichita to Ruth Smith and had three siblings, Barbara Ann, Ronald, and Ruth.

He graduated from Stafford High School in 1956 and served in the Air Force between 1960 and 1964.

Although he taught English in Florence, he probably was better known for Harrington Photography. He took pictures of athletic teams for surrounding schools while living in Marion. He also played with a number of bluegrass banjo groups and owned a Rapid Roof business.

He was admitted to Peabody Health and Rehab nursing home in April, 2022. He had no known living relatives.

Memorials have been established with Good Shepherd Hospice, 7829 E Rockhill St, Suite 403, Wichita KS 67206 and John McKay American Legion, Florence, so his flag may be flown each Memorial Day as part of the Avenue of Flags at Hillcrest Cemetery at Florence.
