EXPANDED EULOGIES

Betty Stenzel

Graveside services for Betty A. Stenzel, 90, of Ramona, who passed away peacefully June 1 at Wakefield Golden Living Center in Wakefield, will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Lewis Cemetery near Ramona.

She died surrounded by her granddaughter, Nikki, and Nikki’s mother, Lori.

She was born Feb. 28, 1931, in Two Buttes, Colorado, a daughter of William and Jenny (Blount) Weber.

She graduated in 1949 from Ramona High School, where she was a cheerleader. After high school, she attended business college in Wichita and worked for Farmers Insurance until she married and moved to Ramona.

She married Edward Stenzel on May 13, 1951, in Marion. He preceded her in death.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Ramona. She was an avid reader and enjoyed books by Danielle Steele and Ann Rule. She also enjoyed cooking. Everyone loved her fried chicken, which she used to make every Sunday after church. She and Eddie loved to go polka dancing in Pilsen, but above all she loved being a mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Those who knew Betty always will remember her kindness, generosity, and spicy, tough-as-nails personality.

She is survived by granddaughter Nicole Stenzel of Manhattan and great-grandson Christian N. Guilford.

Her son, Gregory E. Stenzel, preceded her in death.

Friends may sign the register book at the cemetery before the service. The family will be host for a small luncheon at Trinity Parish Hall adjacent to the Lutheran Church after the services.

A memorial fund has been established for her great-grandson, Christian Guilford. Contributions may be sent in care of Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home, 414 NW 3rd St, Abilene KS 67410.

Condolences may be left for the family at www.martinbeckercarlson.com.
