These accident reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:

SHERIFF

US-56/77 south of 370th Rd.

Jeremy W. McClanahan, 47, rural Augusta, hit a deer at 9:30 p.m. May 17 with his 2010 Chevrolet Camaro, which sustained disabling damage to its front and hood and was towed.

Sara B. McClanahan, 46, of the same address was a passenger.

Quail Creek Rd. south of 300th Rd.

Brooklyn A. Smith, 18, rural Ramona, hit a cow at 10:36 p.m. May 18 with a 2016 Chevrolet Cruise owned by Eldon S. Smith of the same address.

Damage to the Chevy’s front and hood was characterized as disabling, but no tow truck was called.

The cow, owned by Valentine L. Klenda of rural Lincolnville, survived.

Remington Rd. south of 240th Rd.

Susan K. Regalado, 64, Lincolnville, hit a deer at 5:35 p.m. May 19 with her 2013 Chevrolet Equinox, which remained functional despite moderate damage to its left front and hood.

US-77 north of 110th Rd.

Michael E. Shepher, 73, Manhattan, hit a deer at 7:31 p.m. May 19 with his 2022 Toyota Camry, which sustained minor damage to its right front.

200 block of Cedar St., Marion

Vickie S. Jackson, 77, Marion, backed her 2011 Buick Lucerne out of a private drive at 5:35 p.m. May 20 and into a 2010 Honda Pilot legally parked across the street.

Jackson’s car sustained moderate damage to its left rear. The parked SUV, owned by Jennifer R. Janzen of Marion, sustained moderate damage along its left side. Both remained drivable.

A report by deputy Kaylan Miles blamed the accident on inattentive driving, but no tickets were issued.

Sun Prairie mobile home park, Goessel

John A. Cooper, 56, North Newton, backed his 2018 Dodge Caravan at 4:15 p.m. May 22 into a 2015 Kia Sorento legally parked across a private road.

Damage to Cooper’s Dodge and to the parked Kia, owned by Benjamin A. Barber of Goessel, was characterized as minor.

A report by deputy Bruce Burke blamed the accident on inattentive driving, but no tickets were issued.

U.S.-50 east of Pawnee Rd.

Anne B. Morgan, 52, Manhattan, hit a deer at 9 p.m. May 22 with a 2020 Subaru Outback owned by Theodore J. Morgan of the same address.

Air bags were deployed, and Morgan was checked by county ambulance attendants but not taken to a hospital.

The Subaru sustained disabling damage to its front and hood and was towed.

K-15 north of 160th Rd.

Errol G. Becker, 78, Galva, dozed off at 7:23 p.m. May 24 and drove his 2004 Toyota Corolla across K-15’s centerline and into Kurt A. Herrel’s mailbox on the opposite side of the road before spinning the car 180 degrees.

The Toyota sustained disabling damage to its front third, windshield, and undercarriage and was towed.

No tickets were issued.

HILLSBORO

D St. east of Wilson St.

Two westbound vehicles traveling in separate lanes brushed against each other at 5:54 p.m. Friday.

Assistant chief Randy Brazil’s report said Katrina L. Furrer, 19, rural Hillsboro, looked down for a credit card in a cup holder and allowed her 2002 Ford Escape to sideswipe a 2017 Jeep Cherokee owned and driven by Lori B. Eldridge, 34, Hillsboro.

Both vehicles sustained damage characterized as minor. Furrer was ticketed for inattentive driving.
