These accident reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:
SHERIFF
US-56 north of 210th Rd.
Matthew A. Couchman, 31, Goddard, hit a deer at 8:05 p.m. Sept. 16 with his 2007 Ford Edge.
The sport-utility vehicle sustained disabling damage to its right, front, and hood and was towed.
Jayden J. Couchman, 26, of the same address was a passenger.
US-56 north of 220th Rd.
Leroy E. Burton, 73, El Dorado, hit a deer at 9:51 p.m. Sept. 17 with his 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe, which sustained damage described as minor.
Jeri L. Burton, 71, of the same address was a passenger.
US-50 east of Sunflower Rd.
A 2009 BWM 528xi burst into flames at 6:15 p.m. Sept. 18 after an overheat warning light came on and its driver pulled the vehicle off the road’s shoulder.
The car, licensed in Mississippi and owned and driven by a person identified only as Fredy E. Lopez Maldonado, 22, of an undisclosed address, was listed as destroyed.
Indigo Rd. south of 100th Rd.
Attempting to avoid a deer at 10:31 p.m. Sept. 18, Deangela N. Regular, 36, Wichita, drove her 2008 Ford Edge into a ditch.
Deputy Joel Womochil’s report states that Regular had ingested illegal drugs but that they did not contribute to the accident. No citations were issued.
Her sport-utility vehicle was towed.
