These accident reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:

SHERIFF

US-77 north of 120th Rd.

Belladonna Toy, 18, Florence, was taken to St. Luke Hospital, Marion, with facial injuries after she oversteered a 2000 Chevrolet Tracker at 4:06 p.m. June 28 and drove it off the left side of US-77, down an incline, and into a tree.

The pickup sustained what was termed disabling damage to its front end but was removed without a tow truck by vehicle owner Darren S. Polchow of the same Florence address.

Florence firefighters also responded to the accident.

US-50/77 roundabout

Two pickups collided at 9:50 a.m. July 2 inside the Florence roundabout.

Robert K. Sellers, 83, rural Florence, failed to yield upon entering the roundabout from the southwest on US-50, deputy Derek Fetrow’s report states.

His 2004 Ford F-350, which was not damaged, struck the left rear of a 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 owned and driven by Harvey Deatherage, 71, Milford, who already had entered from the north on US-77.

Deatherage’s truck was damaged but remained functional. No tickets were issued.

US-77 south of 310th Rd.

Merlene L. Lane, 81, Herington, was taken by Marion ambulance to Herington Hospital after she lost control of her 2020 Buick Envision while coughing at 11:17 a.m. July 2.

The subcompact veered off the left side of the road and then the right, hitting a flashing school speed zone sign near Centre schools. The car sustained disabling damage to its front right and rear and was towed.

290th Rd. west of Vista Rd.

Ashton L. Smith, 38, rural Marion, hit a deer with her 2015 Ford Fusion at 8:22 a.m. July 5. The car sustained only minor damage, according to deputy Landis Goodman’s report.
