The car, owned by passenger Taylor W. Woll, 23, Towanda, who also may have been injured but was not taken to a hospital, spun backward into the opposite ditch, overturned, and had to be towed.

Although a Marion County truck struck the rear axles of a lumber trailer in the middle of an uncontrolled intersection at 11:45 a.m. July 6, deputy Larry Starkey’s report blamed the trailer driver for failing to yield.

The county truck driver, Glenn R. George, 66, of Lehigh, was taken to St. Luke Hospital, Marion, after the accident. He was driving a 2005 Mack truck owned by the county’s road and bridge department.

Both it and the lumber trailer, a 2016 Peterbilt owned by Star Lumber and Supply of Wichita and driven by Jonathan T. Hyslop, 25, Bel Aire, overturned and had to be towed.
