Professional actors, aerial acrobats, and clown acts are booked for one of the big events of the year next Sunday at Civil Air Patrol’s flying carnival at Marion Airport. A large crowd is expected as only a nominal charge is being made to defray expenses.
Rachel Keazer, a graduate of Kansas School of Cosmetology, has been hired by Evelyn Ollenberger as an operator at Marion Beauty Shop, which will reopen Monday at 136 N. Roosevelt St.
Marion High School seniors Leslie Powell and Norma Sly were chosen king and queen of the high school carnival Tuesday evening at the school.
High school winners in Case and Son’s annual fire prevention essay contest are Dorothy Markham, first, $5; Robert Skibbe, second, $3; and Ursula Neuwirth, third, $2.
First-place winners in the grade school division, each receiving $2, are Kay Navrat, sixth grade; Lois Strong, seventh; and Pearl Seibel, eighth.
