Clark’s Firestone Store sold this week to Lloyd B. Tarrant of Stafford. Current personnel Vernon Regier and Chet McKibbin will remain with the new management. The store will be known as Tarrant Firestone Store.

Loyette Hollar and Betty Williams left this week for Nantucket Island, Massachusetts, where they will work for the rest of the summer.

Sidewalk watchers asked whether they were looking for oil. In reality, they were drilling for water for the bank’s air conditioning system.

Pilsen correspondent Helen Navrat writes that people in her area soon will be enjoying electricity.
