If the number of comments on the swimming pool question in a survey by the Junior Chamber of Commerce is an indication, a large number of people think a municipal pool is needed in Marion.

Lynn Christensen, local implement dealer, was elected president Monday evening of Marion Chamber of Commerce. Bud Pierce was named vice president.

Dear Santa Claus. My name is Tony Klenda. I am 6 years old, would you please bring me an aeroplane, a watch, a small combine, and a BB gun. My brother David is 5 years old. He wants a BB gun and eight boxes of BB shots. My brother Johnny is 4 years old. He wants a real pony, with four legs that can walk just like Uncle Vincent’s. He also wants a saddle. Mrs. Ruben Winter entertained several children Wednesday afternoon in celebration of daughter Kathy Kay’s 4th birthday. Guests were Maurita Deines, Janet Giles, Sara Heidel, Kendall Helmer, Janet Lawrence, and Dicky Wiebe and their mothers.

Boys in Cub Scout Den 1 took cookies to the home of one of their den mothers, Mrs. John Just, Monday evening and arranged eight decorated plates before taking them to shut-ins in the neighborhood. Boys in the troop are Larry and Bobby Boese, Steven Collett, Ronnie Druse, Carl Elling Jr., and Keith Just.
