Roger Pankratz, a Marion High School graduate and candidate this spring for a Ph.D. degree from Ohio State University, has been named assistant professor of physics at Tabor College, Hillsboro, beginning with the fall semester.
A caution light is being installed near the city limits at the east edge of town. It is at the Marion Country Club hill and warns motorists they are approaching town and should reduce speed.
LeRoy Dreier, head coach at Strong City, has been hired to be football coach at Marion next fall. He also will coach track, be assistant basketball coach, and teach physical education and typing.
The annual Marion Parent-Teacher home talent fundraising event was Monday and Tuesday. It played to near capacity houses both nights. Each of two scholarship awardees, Linda Bauman and Gilbert Johnson, spoke each evening, making short, effective thank-you talks to the audiences.
