David A. Hanson of Emporia has purchased the Phillips 66 station here. The staff, including Max Carr Jr., Dennis Conyers, Roland Klein, and Allen Sangwin, will remain.

Almost 200 youngsters are among those enrolled in the first session of Red Cross swimming lessons this week at Marion Municipal Pool. Jean Morse is in charge of the program. Her instructors include Mary Agnes Bina, LaVonda Hett, Helen Jackson, Nancy Klenda, Mary Konarik, Judy Pankratz, Blair Post, and Tom Tucker.

Citizen band radios, a relatively new development in the radio field, are increasing in number over this part of the county by leaps and bounds.

Marjorie L. Gardner of Louisburg and Mick W. Summervill of Marion exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 14 at First Baptist Church, Louisburg.

Carolyn Powell, Shirley Bredemeier, and Sandra Winkley, graduates of Marion High School, spent a day on the Kansas State Teachers College campus at Emporia completing entrance examinations and pre-enrollment procedures for the 1964-’65 school year.
