Farmers and ranchers in the Marion and Chase County area will enjoy another in a long series of farm-city steak fry parties Monday evening at Marion City Building

Centre High School students will present “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown!” Thursday and Friday in the school gym. The musical features Mike Broce as Charlie Brown, Marlene Dvorak as Snoopy, and Steve Jirak as Linus.

Santa will be at Brookens Law Office in Marion, west of the post office, the Sunday after Thanksgiving during Marion Chamber of Commerce’s “Christmas Opening.” Richard Harrington will have his camera set up to take photos of Santa and his young friends.

Marion High School was well represented Oct. 31 at Emporia State University’s Math Career Day. Greg Boyle, Theresa Kroupa, and Beth Regier are pictured as they participate on a team competing in various calculation skills contests.

Cattle producers from Marion and Chase Counties gathered Friday afternoon to hear Strait Ranch manager Randy V. Mills discuss nutrition, calving, and bull-testing programs that have made Black Angus bulls raised on the ranch southeast of Florence well-known in Kansas.
