A contract has been let to construct an attractive and spacious new building for Marion National Bank on the site of its present building at 3rd and Main Sts. The bank will move to temporary quarters at the east end of the block about Aug. 1.

This week’s Personality Profile by Ruth Meyer features farmer and auctioneer Milt Hiebert.

Art in the Park will be one of several features at a community event Aug. 18 in Marion. Artists and craftsmen from a wide area have been invited. Tables will be available in Central Park.

Jackie Richmond, Jami Shirley, and Linda Williams attended the Ted Owens basketball camp for girls for two weeks at the University of Kansas in Lawrence.

Boy Scouts of Marion Troop 102 attending camp June 17 to 23 at Quivera Scout Ranch were Jeff Conyers, Monte Dalke, Jeff Harris, Danny Horsch, Roger Hudlin, Mike Jordan, Tim Jordan, Chris Meierhoff, and Myles Zeller. Also attending were leaders John Jordan and Keith Conyers.
