The body of 30-year-old Justin Milne of McPherson was found Monday near Marion Reservoir by authorities conducting a search as part of the investigation of a vehicle fire Sunday evening. Following investigation, Dustin Smith, 23, McPherson, has been charged with premeditated first degree murder of Milne.

Retired Marine Corps Colonel Dick Schwartz spoke Monday at Marion Cemetery at the annual Memorial Day ceremony.

Marion High School faculty and staff choose two students each month for overall citizenship and classroom performance. Students selected for the month of May are freshman Nicholas Meyer and junior Jesse Taylor.
