Persons with arthritis, osteoporosis, diabetes, heart or lung disease, or other chronic health conditions can learn coping strategies and techniques by attending a series of workshops offered by the county department on aging.
Chronic Disease Self-Management sessions will include information about dealing with frustration, isolation, fatigue, and pain, appropriate exercise, medication, nutrition, effective communication, evaluating new treatments, and making decisions.
The free class began Monday, and registration remains open for five additional weekly sessions meeting Mondays from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. at Hilltop Manor, 1501 E. Lawrence St., Marion. Call (620) 382-3580 to register.
