Traffic violation warnings took serious turns for drivers on two occasions last week in Marion.

Salina resident Tyler M. Regier, 26, was driving Saturday afternoon in the 100 block of N. Freeborn St. when he was stopped for not having a tag light and was subsequently arrested on suspicion of driving with a suspended license.

An arrest for a traffic violation stop is uncommon, said Steve Janzen Marion’s assistant police chief.

“Once in a while you find somebody who has both and it just works out,” he said.

Regier was not the first driver arrested during a traffic stop last week.

Another incident occurred two days prior.

Natalie Geren, 37, Marion, was pulled over for not using a turn signal on Thursday in the 500 block of S. Cedar St. Instead, she ended up under arrest at the sheriff’s office on an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in court.

“It just worked out that way,” Jazen said. “The warrant was somebody we would have been looking for, and it just happened that we saw her driving.”
