SENIOR CENTER:   Seniors display favorite forks

Marion Senior Center

The center celebrated National Fork Day Oct. 26 with a display of favorite forks, the history and acceptance of the use of forks, the well-known story of the woman buried with her fork, and a rousing rendition of the official fork song.

Teresa Enck was welcomed as a new dining room volunteer.

Thanks to Roger Bitner for bringing in Halloween decorations for the sunflower bouquets on the tables.

A few people showed up Oct. 31 in costume, including Leland Albrecht, Lucille Bitner, and Janet Bryant.

After lunch, the group sang Halloween carols led by Sue Clough and Lydia Gates, with Keith Allison as pianist.

Barbara Smith will tell about her duties as a silver-haired legislator Nov. 14.

Mickey Mouse’s birthday will be observed Nov. 16.
