SENIOR CENTER:   Seniors celebrate Mickey Mouse

Senior Center

The center celebrated Mickey Mouse’s birthday Nov. 17. People wore Mickey T-shirts or sweatshirts, and there was a display of collectibles. Lucille Bitner activated her Mickey in his rocking chair and Mickey on roller blades. Connie Fisher led the group in the Mickey Mouse Club song.

Emergency meals are available to take home by signing for them. They are designed to use if electricity goes off.

The winner of the penny jar guessing contest was Jim Gates. The total was $46.77. He guessed $43.97. He won a mug, not the money in the jar.

The center observed Thanksgiving with a turkey dinner Nov. 22. Before lunch, Gayla Ratzlaff shared a joke, and Janet Bryant read a children’s story about students saving turkeys from being eaten by hiding them under their coats. The story was written by Barbara Abbott.

Ron and Connie Shipman will present a musical program Dec. 6.
