Her children, grandchildren, and friends celebrated with her March 9 with a banquet and cake at Hilltop Manor in Marion.

Deborah Cisneros, Helena Frizell, Victor J. Schafers, Teri Williams, Tina Hulett, and Mary Raleigh are her living children. Christopher Schafers, Madonna Hedgecock, Herman Schafers, and Gerry Ann Schafers are deceased.

Schafers has 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
