Rollover accident sends 17-year-old to Wesley

Three area teens were involved in a one-vehicle injury accident Tuesday that results in two of them being transported for emergency medical attention.

Goessel first response, Goessel fire, and Peabody ambulance were called to a rollover accident about 8 miles southwest of Hillsboro on 140th Rd. between Falcon and Eagle Rds. at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to emergency transmissions recorded by the newspaper.

Gasoline was reported to be leaking out of the vehicle into the ditch.

Initially, dispatchers said they were told there were no injuries, but a subsequent transmission indicated a 17-year-old female crawled out of the vehicle on her own, had some bleeding, bruising, and lacerations, and was complaining of neck and back pain and wanted to fall asleep. She was airlifted by LifeTeam helicopter to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

A 17-year-old male was transported by Marion ambulance, which was called out at 2:37 p.m., to St. Luke Hospital. An 18-year-old male refused treatment or transportation.

Names of the victims and condition updates were not available from official sources as of press time.
