Reynolds has huge passion for cars

Staff writer

While many Peabody residents will be appreciative of a mechanic in town since the loss of Peabody Farm Services operated by Dick Alcorn, opening Pro-Source Automotive in the same location means more than just the restoration of a new local business for new owner Rick Reynolds.

“I’ve always had a huge passion for cars, and I want to keep Peabody going,” said Reynolds, who also serves on the Peabody City Council. “But one of the main things is to try to teach my 13-year-old son what I know and set him up for a positive future.”

Reynolds works full time for Agco Corporation in maintence by day, and heads to Pro-Source most evenings, located at 203 S. Maple St.

“Right now I’m basically down there every day from 3:30 to whenever and on the weekends,” Reynolds said. “I’ve been busy enough by word of mouth so far, I haven’t even put my sign out yet.”

Reynolds has more than 20 years of mechanic experience and several certifications he’s acquired along the way, including in Suzuki, Ford, and Dodge technician certifications, along with knowledge he’s gained through on-the-job training.

“I started professionally working on cars on my 18th birthday,” he said. “I can do anything from a simple flat repair to a complete race car build. We also specialize in paintless dent repair.”

Plans include hiring someone to offer services during the day,” Reynolds said.

Reynolds can be contacted at (316) 281-5654.
