Ralph E. Eickleberry, 73, former Marion resident, died Sunday at Rooks County Health Center in Plainville.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Zeiner Funeral Home, Marion. Inurnment will follow at Marion Cemetery.

He was born May 30, 1942, to Glen and Mildred Eickleberry in Liberty, Illinois. He was an Army veteran, serving in Germany in the early 1960s, and was a retired truck driver.

He married Alma Gibson Oct. 22, 1971, in St. Louis, Missouri.  They made their home in Marion for many years. She preceded him in death in 2001.

Ralph is survived by sons, George Gore of Durham, Jeff Gore, Palco; Bill Eickleberry, Wood River, Illinois; and Glen Eickleberry, Damar; daughter Sherry Kamp, Wood River, Illinois; brothers, Jack and Richard, both of Illinois; 16 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
