Pulling into someone else’s driveway proved a costly error for three people arrested on drug, weapons, and other charges last week.

Officer John Huebert detained a 1990 Honda Accord at 8:32 p.m. May 22 after it was seen in a driveway in the 100 block of S. Elm St. and a check determined that its license plate was invalid.

Deputy Bronson Shipman and the county’s drug dog, Karma, were then summoned.

The dog indicated drugs might be present, and a search of the vehicle discovered 1 milliliter (about a fifth of a teaspoon) of methamphetamines, 28 doses of methocarbamol (a muscle relaxant), and drug paraphernalia, according to Huebert’s report.

A Ruger LC9s 9mm handgun, reported stolen earlier this year from David Lee Remmers, 34, rural Lincolnville, also was recovered, the report said.

Driver Juanita Gibson, 33, of Hillsboro, who also lists a Lehigh address, was arrested on suspicion of possessing opiates or narcotics and drug paraphernalia, operating an unregistered vehicle, and failing to provide evidence of vehicle liability insurance.

She was booked into Marion County Jail and released 17½ hours later on $5,500 surety bond.

Passenger Kimberlee Damron, 26, of Herington, who also lists a Wichita address, was arrested on suspicion of possessing methamphetamines, a stolen firearm, and drug paraphernalia and of criminal possession of a firearm by an addict.

She also was booked into county jail on a Wilson County warrant alleging interference with a law enforcement officer.

She remained in jail this week.

A second passenger, Marcus Radke, 32, Wichita, was arrested on a Sedgwick County warrant alleging probation violation. He was released 1½ days later without bond, according to the jail’s inmate tracking system.
