April 24 — A case of child truancy and a non-injury accident in the Hometown Pharmacy parking lot were investigated.

April 25 — A report of suspicious vehicle in the Hillsboro Heights area was investigated. Traffic control was provided for an injury accident on US-56. Marion police were assisted with a drug investigation.

April 26 — Officers assisted a citizen to locate their dead canine. A report of a car in a ditch on Kanza Rd. and a report of a stolen pickup from Elcon, Inc. were investigated.

Thursday — Reports of attempted theft at CarQuest, juvenile battery, and a civil property issue were investigated. Two speeding warnings were issued.

Friday — A child curfew situation was investigated. A warning was given for a J-turn on Main St.

Saturday — A report of burglary at Tabor College was investigated.

Sunday — A report of yelling in the 100 block of S. Date St. was investigated.

April 24 — A special vehicle permit was issued. Officers spoke with a citizen who had a civil issue concern. A warning was issued for no tag light on US-56 near milepost 304. A report of a reckless driver was investigated; however, the reporting party did not want to sign an official complaint.

April 25 — Two dogs running free were captured and returned to their owner. A report of a dog running free in the 200 block of S. Lincoln St. was investigated; however, the owner picked up the animal before police arrived on scene. Welfare checks in the 1500 block of Victory Ln. and the 100 block of Forest St. were performed.

April 26 — A report of a suspicious person in the area of Denver and Coble Sts. was investigated and when officers made contact, everything was determined to be OK. A welfare check in the 1500 block of E. Main St. was provided; person had moved. A report of noise and junk in yards from demolition derby cars was investigated. A report of a suspicious person was investigated but officers were unable to locate the individual. An equipment warning was issued during a traffic stop on US-56.

Thursday — A report of an aggressive dog inside a residence in the 400 block of N. Lincoln St. was investigated; animal owner was contacted. A disturbance in the 100 block of N. Freeborn St. was investigated.

Friday — The former owner of an abandoned vehicle located in another jurisdiction was contacted and advised police the vehicle had been sold several years ago. A report of a possible scam was investigated. A report of suspicious activity in the 100 block of E. Main St. was investigated.

Saturday — Marion ambulance was assisted in the 300 block of S. Freeborn St. A report of a dog running free in the 100 block of N. 3rd St. was investigated. A citizen who possibly had a prohibited dog breed within city limits was investigated. Officers assisted a citizen to carry groceries from her vehicle into her home in the rain. Traffic control was provided for a broken down vehicle in the 100 block of N. Cedar St.

Sunday — Small tree branches blown into the roadway by high winds were removed. A civil standby in the 400 block of S. Coble St. and a welfare check was made in the 600 block of S. Roosevelt St.

April 24 — An information report was completed for a no trespassing complaint at the Coneburg Inn.

April 25 — A ride-along program was conducted and a vehicle vandalism at 311 N. Walnut St. was investigated.

April 26 — A report of identity theft at 608 E. 2nd St. was investigated. Officers assisted with a Westview Manor resident who wanted to leave but was not allowed to.

Friday — A report of a dog bite at 701 N. Sycamore St. was investigated; chief Bruce Burke said that he anticipated charges would be filed.

Sunday — Animal control investigated a report of two dogs fighting at 207 N. Elm St.; one dog owner was issued a dog running free warning, the other owner was issued a warning for no dog tags.
