July 31 — Suspicious activity in the 300 block of N. Cedar St., a dog at large at Main and Ash Sts., and a power outage in the 100 block of S. Birch St. were investigated. Stolen property was returned to its owner.

Aug. 1 — A noise complaint in the 200 block of S. Birch St. and an out of control juvenile in the 400 block of S. Main St. were investigated. Officers assisted the sheriff’s department in the arrest of Harold Stultz, 53, Hillsboro. Stultz was arrested on suspicion of an alleged criminal threat.

Aug. 2 — A social security fraud complaint was investigated.

Aug. 3 — A criminal threat complaint at Tabor College, suspicious vehicle in the 200 block of S. Birch St., and a traffic complaint in the 100 block of S. Ash St. were investigated.

Thursday — A runaway juvenile, report of a missing dog in the 100 block of S. Date St., and noise complaint in the 600 block of S. Ash St. were investigated.

Friday — Complaints of harassment in the 200 block of S. Madison St., a dog at large in the 200 block of S. Madison St., and traffic at D and Ash Sts. were investigated.

Saturday — A domestic disturbance at Washington and B Sts. and a property dispute in the 400 block of N. Ash St. were investigated. Several curfew violations were issued at Ash and Grand Sts. A civil standby in the 300 block of N. Washington St. was performed.

Marion

Aug. 1 — A report of possible forgery in the 1100 block of E. Main St. was investigated. Door-to-door salesmen attempting to peddle products in the 100 block of E. Main St. were advised to obtain a sales permit.

Aug. 3 — A possible theft, 911 disconnect in the 300 block of S. Lincoln St., and report of a door ajar were investigated. A report of a motorcycle and ATV in the roadway in the 500 block of N. Freeborn St. was investigated. A warning for no seatbelt was issued.

Thursday — The theft of a 1993 ATV in the 300 block of Grant St. was investigated. A warning for no tag light was issued. A damaged street light was discovered near Marion Central Park. A tree branch was removed from the 400 block of Walnut St.

Friday — Two dogs at large in the 500 block of Locust St. were captured and returned to their cage and their owners were notified.

Saturday — Five warnings for no tag lights were issued. A warning was issued after a driving compliant was made on S. 3rd St. A report of a hit and run was investigated at USD 408 Sports and Aquatic Center; suspect was located. A warning for failure to yield was issued.

Sunday — A dog at large in the 600 block of N. Cedar St. was transported to Animal Health Center.

Aug. 1 — Police responded to a call about a disturbance at a residence and filed a complaint of a minor in possession of alcohol and interference with a law enforcement officer.

Police took a report of tools and mower parts stolen from a garage at 511 W. 9th St.

Aug. 3 — Officers assisted a resident with financial fraud issues.

Thursday — Police took a report of attempted burglary and criminal damage to property at Peabody Market. Someone tried to break into the building by breaking a window between two drink machines in front of the store.

Friday — A protection-from-abuse violation was reported and turned over to Marion County Attorney for review.

Saturday — Blake Dunnahoo was arrested and charged with alleged failure to appear on a Marion County warrant.

Police responded to request for a welfare check on a person who had not shown up for work for several days. During the investigation, officers “pinged” the subject’s cell phone. The subject was fine, but had gone to North Carolina. His presence there was confirmed by North Carolina law enforcement. He indicated he would not be returning to Kansas.

Officers took a report of criminal damage to property at a closed business at 107 West 1st St. A padlock was cut off the door, but entry to the building was not gained.
