July 4 — Several fireworks complaints were investigated.

July 5 — A residential door left open, a parking complaint, and a non-injury accident were investigated.

July 6 —A possible phone harassment was investigated.

Thursday — A case of trespassing and criminal damage to property in the 300 block of N. Lincoln St. and a neighborhood complaint in the 200 block of N. Washington St. were investigated. Several J-turn warnings were issued.

Friday — Police attempted to locate a suicidal person. Complaints of traffic in the 600 block of E. D St., parking in the 300 block of N. Jefferson St., a non-injury accident in Greenhaw Pharmacy’s parking lot, and a violation of a protection-from-abuse order were investigated.

Saturday — Police investigated a report of a fox seen in the 700 block of S. Washington St.

Sunday — A coyote was chased away from Cooperative Grain and Supply. A dog-at-large complaint was investigated.

July 4 — A motorist who neglected to pay for gas in the 1000 block of E. Main St. was located, returned, and paid. Four warnings for fireworks discharged in roadways, one for shooting fireworks after hours were issued. A large amount of fireworks trash was discovered in the 800 block of Welch St.; residents were contacted and the debris was removed. A dog running at large was investigated.

July 5 — A warning for speeding was issued. An out-of-control person was investigated in the 500 block of S. Freeborn St. Officers assisted sheriff’s deputies with an out-of-control jail inmate.

July 6 — A report of a lost dog was investigated. Police assisted sheriff’s deputies with an injury accident near Pawnee and 190th Rds., and at fight in the 300 block of W. 4th St. A suspicious person on Industrial Rd. was investigated.

Thursday — Warnings for texting while driving, headlamp out, and two curfew violations were issued.

Friday — An abandoned vehicle on US-56 and a vehicle parked in a no-parking zone on S. 3rd St. were investigated. Police assisted sheriff’s deputies with an injury accident near 180th and Sumac Rds., and in searching for a possible suicidal person.

Saturday — Reports of a person receiving threats and a suspicious person in the courthouse were investigated. A warning for a brake light was issued. A dead cat was removed from the 600 block of N. Cedar St.

Sunday — A 911 disconnect in the 200 block of Lawrence St. was investigated.

July 4 — Police took two reports of found property and returned the items to their owners.

July 5 — Police investigated a report of fraud that was determined to be a civil matter.

Officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle. After investigation, formal charges for criminal deprivation of property, disorderly conduct, and criminal trespass will be filed through the county attorney’s office.

July 6 — Jason Brooks, Peabody, was jailed for bond revocation.

Police took a report of a motorcycle stolen from the 700 block of N. Walnut St.

Thursday — Police opened an investigation of a child in need of care.
