Hillsboro

March 27 — Several warnings were issued to drivers who had obstructed views because of snow on their windows. A complaint in the 400 block of S. Ash St. and a suspicious person in Hillsboro Heights were investigated.

March 28 — A report of a stolen credit card used in another jurisdiction was investigated. Illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered in a dorm room at Tabor College for which charges are pending against a 21-year-old man from Old Modesto, California.

March 29 — A traffic complaint, report of suspicious person, dog complaint, 911 disconnect, complaint of a suspicious object in a shed, and a domestic disturbance that involved two juvenile brothers were investigated.

March 30 — A missing child complaint, report of a stolen bicycle, and attempted cell phone scam were investigated.

Thursday — A trespass complaint and a report of a stolen trailer tag were investigated.

Friday — The theft of a laptop computer, gas skip and shoplifting at Ampride, and a non-injury accident were investigated.

Saturday — An opossum complaint in the 100 block of N. Madison St. was investigated. Lost property was returned to its owner.

March 28 — Verbal warnings for speeding in a school zone and driving against restrictions were issued in the baseball complex parking lot. A vehicle was moved in the 400 block of Locust St. after a parking complaint was made.

March 29 — A report of a theft at Carlsons’ Grocery Store was investigated. A report of missing dress shoes was investigated.

March 30 — Four nuisance property letters were served, and a parking complaint and a report of suspicious activity near Marion High School were investigated.

Thursday — Two nuisance property letters were served. A report of a missing dog was investigated.

Friday — A dog was struck and killed by a motor vehicle in the 1500 block of E. Main St., after which the owner was contacted and dog was retrieved. Suspicious activity in the 500 block of N. Freeborn St. was investigated. A motorized wheelchair vs. large truck injury accident Third and Main Sts. was investigated. A dog at large near Third and Main Sts. eluded police. A nuisance-property violation letter was delivered. Two scam complaints were investigated. A verbal warning for speeding near US-56 and Cedar St. was issued.

Saturday — A commercial alarm in the 1200 block of E. Main St was investigated. Verbal warnings for speeding and no left turn mirror were issued. A possible theft in the 200 block of N. Freeborn was investigated. A report of open burning in a pit in the 100 block of N. Freeborn St. was investigated. The fire chief advised the resident that there should be no burning unless it was agriculture related. Traffic control for a grass fire was provided. A noise complaint in the 400 block of Cleveland St. was investigated.

Sunday — An owner of a dog in a car with the windows up in the 600 block of S. Cedar St. was contacted.

March 21 — Police performed two government record checks.

March 30 — Police completed health and safety violation reports on three residences. Letters outlining the violations were sent.

Thursday — Police completed a health and safety violation report and issued a letter outlining violations on the property.

Friday — Mark Van Horn, Peabody, was arrested and charged with failure to appear in Marion County District Court.

Police opened two illegal drug investigations.
