Incident reports

Police provided these reports this week of their activities. Routine training, patrols, office work and other assistance to other agencies are excluded.

Hillsboro

August 20 — Police assisted a motorist in the 300 block of N. Ash St. and enforced a curfew violation in Memorial Park.

August 21 — Officers took report of a parking complaint in the 400 block of S. Adams St. and a dog complaint on Willow Rd.

August 22 — Police took a report of suspicious activity in the 400 block of S. Ash St. and in the 300 block of N. Lincoln St. Officers received a report of a burglary in progress in the 200 block of S. Washington St. Officers discovered a cleaning crew had gone to the wrong address and cleaned the wrong house.

August 23 — Officers received a report of a missing person. The person was found shortly after. Police took a report of a disabled vehicle at A St. and Madison St. Police responded to a civil dispute in the 200 block of S. Madison St.

Thursday — Officers took a report of suspicious activity in the sports complex and at the high school. They took a damage report in the 600 block of S. Main St. Someone used chalk to write on a brick building. Officers went to the scene of a minor traffic accident in the 100 block of S. Date St.

Friday — Officers took reports of four vehicles vandalized in the 800 and 500 block of W. Grand Ave., a residence vandalized in the 100 block of S. Adams St., a street sign vandalized on Prairie Pointe, and several other vehicles and buildings vandalized throughout other parts of the county. Several suspects have been identified and charges are pending. Police took a report of someone who had broken beer bottles in Memorial Park.

Saturday — Officers followed up on Friday’s vandalism reports. They located another residence in the 300 block of N. Birch St. that had been spray-painted. Officers enforced a curfew violation in Memorial Park and took a report of a vagrant asking for money in the 100 block of W. Grand Ave.

Marion

Police chief Tyler Mermis did not have an activity report to provide when one was requested Monday.

Peabody

Aug. 21 — Officers completed an application for a ride-along program. Mike Reynolds, 68, Peabody, was arrested on suspicion of battery. A case of disorderly conduct was filed and is ongoing.

Aug. 22 — Officers investigated a report of criminal damage to a handrail at Peabody Township Library.

Thursday — Officers took an informational harassment report.
