ACTIVITY REPORTS

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.

HILLSBORO

Sept. 5 — A driver in the 100 block of W. A St. was ticketed for speeding and, pending results of a blood draw, may face drunken driving charges. Another driver was warned for an equipment violation at US-56 and Kanza Rd. Police met with youths driving a four-wheeler on city property. Lost property was recovered.

Sept. 6 — Dogs running free in the 300 block of N. Lincoln St. were returned to their owner. Another dog running free was captured and taken to a veterinary clinic. Police met with a resident about a possible violation of an order of protection.

Sept. 7 — A dog running free in the 600 block of S. Washington St. was returned to its owner. A driver in the 1000 block of S. Ash St. was warned about speeding. Recovered property was returned. Police stood by during a civil matter at Barkman Honey and met with a resident about a civil issue related to lending someone a vehicle.

Thursday — A driver at Ash and C Sts. was arrested on suspicion of driving while her license was suspended. A report of road rage on US-56 proved unfounded.

Friday — A reportedly intoxicated 28-year-old Hillsboro resident was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery and criminal damage after he allegedly struck or threatened three relatives and damaged a fourth’s vehicle. A traffic complaint in the 300 block of S. Ash St. was determined to be unfounded.

Saturday — Police helped a motorist who had run out of gas, warned another about an equipment violation, and spoke to a parent and child about the importance of the child listening to what the parent had to say.

Sunday — A dog running free in the 300 block of S. Main St. was taken to a veterinary clinic. No problems were found upon checking into a disconnected 911 call from the 300 block of N. Madison St.

MARION

Over the week, police stopped seven motorists for various undisclosed reasons.

Sept. 5 — No problems were found when a disconnected 911 call was investigated.

Sept. 6 — Police discussed a citation a resident had received.

Sept. 7 — An alarm at an undisclosed business was investigated. A motorist who had been reported to be driving recklessly in the county was stopped upon entering the city. Police talked to a resident about a dog running free.

Thursday — An alarm at an undisclosed bank was investigated.

Friday — Police separated people involved in disturbances in the 400 block of S. Roosevelt St. and in the 100 block of N. Roosevelt St.

Saturday — An open door was secured after police were unable to contact the building owner. Police helped a resident notify city crews about a water leak and met with a resident about complaints he had regarding his neighbors.

Sunday — Routine activities.

PEABODY

Sept. 5 — A resident complained of trespassing in the 400 block of S. Maple St.

Sept. 6 — A motorist was warned for making a J-turn downtown.

Sept. 7 — A citation was issued to the owner of a dog running free in the 600 block of N. Locust St.

Thursday — A driver was cited for speeding. Three new cases of homes illegally without water service were opened.

Friday — A resident was notified of a death.

Saturday — Police looked for cows loose on US-50 and then helped investigate an accident in which two of them were struck by a vehicle.

Sunday — Police checked on a driver sleeping in a car at Dollar General.
