Jan. 18 — Officers assisted Haysville police department and DCF with investigations.

Jan. 19 — Officers investigated a report of someone dumping trash at the Marion County Fairgrounds, and a report of suspicious activity in the 200 block of N. Main St.

Jan. 20 — Officers took a report of a possible scam, and investigated a report from someone who said they did not receive goods they purchased, which was found to be a civil matter.

Jan. 20 — Officers investigated a report of a panhandler in the 300 block of N. Ash St. The suspect was not there when police arrived.

Friday — Officers took a report of a lost item which was later recovered, investigated suspicious activity at D and Wilson Sts., investigated a report that someone had broken a tree and swing set at the city park, assisted the DCF with an investigation, a took a report of a dog bite in the 800 block of W. Grand St., assisted Marion Police Department with a disturbance, assisted the sheriff’s department with a civil process, and aided emergency medical services in the 100 block of N. Washington. Police assisted a motorist on US-56 and investigated a report of a suspicious vehicle in the 300 block of N. Ash.

Saturday — Officers investigated a report of shoplifting in Hillsboro Heights and responded to a non-injury accident in the 500 block of E. B St.

Marion

Jan. 18 — Officers secured an open gate in the 100 block of N. 2nd St., provided a civil standby in the 300 block of N. Roosevelt St. and made a traffic stop on US-56 near Ridge Rd. where officers issued a warning for a driver with no tag light.

Jan. 19 — Officers conducted three VIN inspections, did a welfare check in the 1500 block of Victory Lane, made a traffic stop near 1st and Water Sts. issued a warning for a driver with a brake light out, investigated a noise complaint in the 700 block of S. Cedar St. and contacted several people, and met with someone about a paper they were served.

Jan. 20 — Officers did a civil standby in the 700 block of S. Cedar St. as city crews cleaned up the property and arrested an individual on an outstanding warrant not connected with the cleanup, and responded to an accident on private property in the 100 block of S. Thorp.

Jan. 21 — Officers investigated a report of an open door in the 100 block of S. 3rd St., secured the door and contacted the owner, and investigated a report of trespassing in the 100 block of S. Lincoln St.

Jan. 22 — Officers captured two dogs running loose in the 400 block of S. Cedar St. and took them to Animal Health Center, investigated a report of two reckless drivers on Cedar St. but found no vehicles, made two traffic stops where drivers were issued warnings for driving over the speed limit, and investigated two disturbances at the same residence in the 300 block of N. Roosevelt, where several people for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, officers provided a civil standby in the 300 block of N. Roosevelt.

Jan. 23 — Officers contacted the key holder for a commercial alarm in the 1000 block of Industrial Rd., warned drivers for failing to use a turn signal, found a bicycle in the 300 block of S. Roosevelt, did a civil standby in the 300 block of N. Roosevelt, returned a call about a parking complaint, and assisted sheriff’s deputies with traffic control on Sunflower Rd. near 160th St.

Jan. 24 — Officers investigated several complaints of nuisance properties, a possible stalking was investigated, a found bicycle was returned to its owner, and a driver was warned for failing to use a turn signal.
