Activity reports

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded.

Hillsboro

Nov. 2 — A report was made of suspicious activity in the 400 block of Orchard Dr. A report of an unattended child proved unfounded. A complaint was made of a dog running free in the 300 block of N. Washington St.

Nov. 3 — A report was made of an excavator that hit a gas line at Tabor College. A report was made of a suspicious vehicle at Hillsboro Municipal Airport. Officers responded to a false alarm at a business in the 100 block of N. Main St. A report was made of a lost vehicle tag. A report of a domestic disturbance was determined to be verbal only. A possible scam attempt was reported.

Nov. 4 — A person was interviewed as a possible burglary suspect. A found driver’s license was returned to its owner. A burglary reported in the 700 block of S. Ash St. The missing items had not been stolen and later were found.

Thursday — A parking complaint was made in the 100 block of S. Elm St.

Friday — A traffic complaint was made at C and Adams Sts. A report was made of an abandoned animal in the 400 block of S. Washington St. Police provided traffic control for Hillsboro High School’s bus leaving for a football game. A report was made of a suspicious vehicle in the 700 block of S. Main St.

Saturday — Officers provided traffic control for Marion County Toy Run. A motorist received assistance in the 500 block of E. D St. A report was made of a suspicious vehicle at Hillsboro Family Aquatic Center.

Nov. 3 — A motorist was warned for passing another vehicle on Main St. A door-to-door salesman was warned for working without a permit.

Nov. 4 — Three motorists were warned for various unspecified traffic violations. A report was made of a possible theft in the 1500 block of Victory Ln., but the person did not want an offense report.

Thursday — Police checked a disabled vehicle. Four motorists were warned for various unspecified traffic violations. A report was made of a disgruntled patient at St. Luke Hospital, but police determined no action was needed.

Friday — A report was made of a missing bicycle in the 600 block of S. Roosevelt St.

Saturday — Officers provided traffic control for Marion County Toy Run. People were warned for being at Central Park after curfew.

Sunday — A report was made of a theft in the 200 block of S. Lincoln St. A dog running free in the 200 block of S. Lincoln St. was taken to Animal Health Center. Two motorists were warned for driving 80 mph in 65 mph zones on US-56 near Cedar St., and on US-56 near Timber Rd. A motorist was warned for speeding on US-56 near Cedar St.

Peabody

Nov. 2 — A motorist was cited for speeding on US-50.

Nov. 4 — A man in his 50s, of an unknown residence, was found with methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in his vehicle during a traffic stop in the 100 block of N. Walnut St., according to police chief Bruce Burke The man, as yet unnamed by police, was parked in a public parking stall with an expired tag. Police are pursuing a long-form offense case, and an offense report is pending.

Thursday — Three motorists were cited for speeding on US-50.
