Activity reports

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded.

Hillsboro

Oct. 5 — Report of a possible protection order violation was made in the 200 the block of S. Madison St. Report of a person having negative reactions to medication was made in the 400 block of N. Ash St.

Oct. 7 — Report was made of a 911 disconnect in the 100 block of N. Main St. Officers located a water leak on A St. Report of a 911 disconnect was made in the 100 block of E. Grand Ave.

Thursday — Report was made of suspicious activity in the 100 block of N. Ash St., and possible suspicious activity was checked at Hillsboro Family Aquatics Center.

Friday — Report was made of people riding skateboards in the lane on Ash St. A person reported a phone scam. A woman reported three potted plants had been taken from her yard.

Saturday — A landowner-tenant dispute in the 300 block of N. Ash St. was determined by police to be a civil issue. Reports were made of a suspicious person and scam attempt in the 100 block of N. Main St.

A domestic disturbance in the 400 block of S. Washington St. was deemed a verbal argument and no action was taken. Report was made of suspicious activity in the 900 block of E. D St.

Sunday — A dog complaint was made in the 200 block of S. Jefferson St. A woman reported hearing voices outside her residence. Subject reported suspicions that someone was trying to steal her charcoal grill.

Oct. 5 — Officers met with a person about a possible theft, but it was determined to be a civil issue. Denim M Wasiel, 34, Newton, was arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct after police observed him when he appeared to be under the influence in the 100 block of S. Freeborn St. Police responded to the scene for reports of someone lying unconscious behind a garbage can.

Oct. 7 — Report was made of a dog running free. The dog’s owner was contacted and retrieved the animal. A motorist was warned for having improper lighting near Main and Cedar Sts. A Marion man was arrested at Country Inn Motel after report was made of a woman lying on the ground. After an investigation, Richard T. Litton, 35, was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery and interfering with law enforcement.

Thursday — A report was made of two political signs taken from a property in the 1500 block of Victory Ln. A landowner was warned about mowing his or her yard. Report of a suspicious vehicle in the 400 block of W. Santa Fe St. proved unfounded. Officers were contacted about issues with a dog picked up in the county. A motorist was cited for failing to stop at a stop sign, not having proof of insurance, and driving with a suspended driver’s license near US-56 and Industrial St.

Friday — Officers provided traffic control for a gas leak in the 1500 block of E. Lawrence St. Police met with a person about a child custody issue in the 100 block of N. Cedar St.

Saturday — Report was made of a disturbance in the 900 block of Melvin St., but the person left before police arrived. A report is being filed with the county attorney. Officers spoke with a person about an RV that was stolen outside of Marion.

Peabody

Oct. 5 — A motorist was cited for speeding on US-50.

Oct. 6 — A motorist was cited for speeding on US-50.

Oct. 7 — A motorist was warned for speeding on US-50.

Thursday — A motorist was cited for speeding on US-50.

Sunday — A motorist was warned for not having a headlight or reflector on a motorized bicycle. *not a motorcycle
