In an effort to get input from the public on an update of its comprehensive plan, Marion County Planning Commission will have a public meeting at Marion Community Center at 7 p.m. March 30.

Representatives from all areas of the county are encouraged to attend. They will have the opportunity to identify issues and concerns. Planning consultant David Yearout of El Dorado will facilitate the meeting and assist in updating the plan.

“We want to take the extra effort to be as inclusive as possible at the beginning of this important planning process for the county,” said planning and zoning director Emma Tajchman.

The comprehensive plan is used in making investment decisions about streets, utilities, community buildings, and other amenities within the community and as a guide for individual decisions on requests for zoning changes.
