PEO holds Coronado Reciprocity meeting

Forty six PEO members representing Newton, McPherson, Halsted, Marion, and Chase County attended the annual Coronado Reciprocity meeting April 9, at Marion City Library. Marion Chapter DB served as host for the event.

The theme was Trains and Books/Harvey House.

Members participated in a social time prior to the luncheon with music provided by Galen Obermeyer, and lunch was served by the “Harvey girls.”

Reciprocity president Eileen Sieger welcomed members, and recognized Golden Girls, who have been members of P.E.O. for 50 or more years. Janet Marler gave a brief history of how the depot became Marion City Library.

Judy Mills presented a program on the life of Fred Harvey, his connection to the Harvey House in Florence, and what it was like to be a Harvey girl.
