P.E.O. divides funding amid international, state club projects

P.E.O. Chapter DB determined funds to donate to six international P.E.O. projects and two Kansas projects when they met Feb. 3 at Marion Presbyterian Church.

Sunflower Grants and the Kansas Cottey Scholarship fund are the projects that stay within the state.

Cheri Ochs Wheeler and Pam Byer were hostesses for the meeting and president Diane Richmond presided.

Dani Lange was welcomed as a new member.

Debbi Darrow presented a historical program for Founders’ Day.

Seven young college women founded the organization in 1869 at Iowa Wesleyan College, Mount Pleasant, Iowa.

Last year marked the 150th anniversary of P.E.O.

The next meeting will be 7 p.m. Feb. 17 at Eastmoor United Methodist Church.

The program will be like a “family meeting” to share and discuss plans and ideas. Emily Kannady will lead.
