REPORTED

These offense reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:

MARION

Criminal littering

Video from newly installed surveillance cameras at Marion County transfer station, 320 W. Santa Fe St., apparently helped police identify when someone illegally dumped an unspecified amount of trash at the station after hours and without permission last week.

Transfer station employees reported the illegal dumping at 2 p.m. Aug. 31. After more than an hour of investigation, officer Duane McCarty was able to determine that the material had been dumped between 4:20 and 4:25 a.m. Aug. 30.

A report from police chief Clinton Jeffrey did not indicate the amount or nature of the material dumped nor whether a suspect had been identified or charges filed.

Aggravated assault, other charges

A 43-year-old Marion resident suffered what were described as minor injuries and a storm door sustained an estimated $260 in damage during a domestic dispute at 4:56 p.m. Sunday in the 300 block of S. Cedar St.

Victim Shannon D. James declined to be checked by Marion ambulance attendants after an argument involving her husband, Jeromy D. James, 41, who was using drugs at the time, according to an offense report.

He was arrested on suspicion of aggravated domestic battery, criminal damage to property, and criminal restraint. He was released Monday on $10,000 surety bond.

The report lists an additional charge of aggravated assault, but this charge was not included in his booking.

According to the report, there were no signs of forced entry and no weapon other than a “personal weapon” (hands, feet, teeth, etc.) was used.

Police censored from the report the identity of who reported the incident.
