Criminal use of financial card

Jade A. Sterk, 19, Newton, reported that an unknown person had taken her debit card information and used it to make a $51.80 purchase from R&D Liquor sometime between Dec. 24, 2016, and Friday. Police reported that Sterk had physical control of her debit card on the date of the report. A sales receipt was obtained from R&D Liquor but video surveillance for the day was no longer available.

Theft, vehicle burglary; intent to steal a firearm, theft of firearm

After allegedly fleeing Harvey County Police when they attempted to stop him for an equipment violation, Robert Eugene Findley, 30, Peabody, was arrested on suspicion of burglary with intent to steal a firearm, theft of a firearm, and multiple counts of theft, which allegedly occurred between 4 p.m. Jan. 16 and 7:15 p.m. Thursday at 415 S. Main St., in the 200 block of W. B St., and in the 200 block of W. Birch St.

Findley allegedly stole a 1986 GMC S 15 pickup three times. After the first time, he allegedly removed a shotgun, chain saw, and several tools from the vehicle along with the only known set of keys to the truck. Between the truck and all the items, Findley reportedly stole an estimated $2,488 of property.

In his report, Hillsboro officer Randy Brazil noted that a tracking device had been placed on the vehicle. Harvey County officers had been notified that the vehicle was stolen.

Findley was booked into Harvey County Jail.

Property damage

A doorframe at Tampa Grill was vandalized overnight Jan. 17. Ashley Johnson, 26, Marion, reported the incident. The damage was estimated at $200.

Deputy Bronson Shipman did not report any items missing from the restaurant.

Burglary and theft

Four guns valued at $645 were reported stolen Jan. 2 or 3 from 100 block of S. Summit St., Goessel. George Hardey, 61, of the same address, reported a Davis Derringer, a Rossi .22 revolver, an Iver Johnson .32, and a Colt 1911 Goldcup .22 were missing from the residence. Deputy Bronson Shipman indicated that force was used to gain entry to the dwelling.

Burglary

Wendy D. Weber, 43, Florence, reported burglary to her vehicle between 6 p.m. Jan.16 and 7 a.m. Jan. 17 while it was parked at 231 Grandview St. in Florence. Undersheriff David Huntley said the vehicle had been ransacked and items were dumped out but nothing was reported stolen or missing.

Burglary

A Winchester model 1890 22 rifle was among several items reported as stolen Jan. 6 by Ron Suderman, 71, Hillsboro. No value was provided for the gun, or a 55” Vizio television that was taken from the home on 130th Rd. between Indigo and Jade Rds. Other items included coins, jewelry, perfume, jewelry box, silver dollars, Vietnam war medals, a black leather coat, a Stihl chain saw, a space heater, and a tool box, all valued at roughly $1,160.

Criminal use of a financial card

Goessel School district reported unauthorized use of Citizens State Bank credit card information between noon Jan. 9 and 2 p.m. Jan. 10 in the 500 block of E. Main St. Police reports indicate the credit information was used twice for $588.
