According to offense reports released this past week:
SHERIFF
Burglary to commit theft
Shields’ Service and Supply reported $43,740 worth of items, including a 1995 Ford F150, Snap-on tools, batteries, and other equipment, taken after forced entry from the 100 block of W. Main St. in Lincolnville between 4:30 a.m. and 8 a.m. Jan. 3. Officer Wilma Mueller reported the unidentified offender was suspected of using drugs or narcotics.
Criminal damage to property
Jerod Shipman, 35, Salina, reported to sheriff’s deputies that an ignition, wires, and key to back hoe, valued at a total of $673, was damaged in the 400 block of US-77, Florence between 1 and 8 a.m. Dec. 26.
Criminal littering
Jeffrey Stenzel, 45, Marion, was victim to criminal littering at 2241 Pawnee Rd. between 10 p.m. Jan. 1 and 8 a.m. Jan. 2.
Theft
Charles Naerebout Jr., 59, Hillsboro, reported a goat missing from his property along US-56 near Hillsboro. The goat, valued at $2,000, was believed to have been taken between 12:01 and 11 a.m. Jan. 1. Police

Jan. 4 —.A report of kids walking on thin ice at a city pond and a parking complaint were investigated.
Jan. 5 — Two motorists were cited for speeding, two for improper turns, two for equipment violations, and one for an expired tag and no insurance.
Jan. 6 — Motorists were stopped for speeding and an equipment violation.
Thursday — A 911 hang up was investigated in the 300 block of N. Jefferson. Citations were given for driving while suspended and an expired tag.
Friday — Five motorists were stopped for equipment violations, three for improper turns, and two for speeding.
Saturday — Traffic enforcement was performed for speeding, an expired tag, no insurance, and an equipment violation. A suspicious person was investigated at Ampride.
Sunday — Damage to an apartment complex at First and Jefferson Sts. was investigated. Motorists were stopped for an equipment violation, speeding, and failure to yield right of way.
Marion
Jan. 4 — A phone number for a locksmith was provided after report of keys locked in a vehicle was taken.
Jan. 5 — A report of a child in need of care was investigated and passed on to the Department of Children and Families. A sleeping semi driver was asked to park elsewhere when he was discovered to be parked in the 700 block of N. Roosevelt.
Jan. 6 — A water leak was discovered in the 1100 block of Denver St. and city crews were called out.
Thursday — Traffic control and evacuation assistance was provided during a fire at the Cooperative Grain and Supply elevator. The elevator was monitored overnight. A report of a gas drive-off at Casey’s General Store was investigated.
Friday — A verbal warning for improper tag display was given to a motorist. A fraudulent check was investigated. One person was escorted off the premises at Casey’s General Store after a report of suspicious activity. A domestic disturbance was investigated.
Saturday — An abandoned vehicle and suspicious activity were investigated.
Sunday — A report of damage to property was discovered to be caused by an animal.
