New physician talks to seniors

New St. Luke Clinic physician Amanda Baxa spoke last week at the senior center. Shirley Bowers also reminisced about her wedding day, and Lanell Hett brought in two perfect roses from her garden.
A veterans’ services representative will be at the center at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Appointments are not necessary.
The sheriff’s department will present a program on home safety at noon Wednesday.
The center also will be site for an American Association of Retired Persons driving course 1 to 5 p.m. Monday and Tuesday.
Tax funding on agenda
Senior Citizens of Marion County will consider requests for taxpayer funding when its board of directors meets at 9:30 a.m. June 16 at Hillsboro Senior Center.
Also on the agenda will be selecting a nominee for the 2017 Senior Fair.
